Day N

Well, although I am not in the best mood for a post, I will update this blog a bit. Echoes by Pink Floyd are playing so it might work.

Long story short, in the N-3 days that followed the last bits of information I've put up here, several things happened:

- got a new job
- another guy working for my former employer was fired (to be detailed to some extent further below)
- got involved into lots of arguments, disputes, 'cat' fights and some other conflicts that one can get involved into without too much effort

So, here are the details:

The new job. "It's a very good". After two years of writing installers (InstallShield MP / X) and three years of performance tuning (read "load testing plus pathetic attempts of recommending performance tips and tricks"), my "career" came to an abrupt change: I am writing installers again. This time, InstallShield 2008 / MSI stuff plus InstallAware. (blogger.com editor is at the same time pissing me off with underlining stuff and great because you can add stuff to the dictionary, sorry for derailing). Anyway, I've got another job and surprisingly enough, I really like it. I'm not in love with my employer or my work mates or anything, but I am enjoying my work, which is good for a change!

Yes, that's right, only ONE guy was fired. Yes, that's right, the guy was the (only) other guy with a big mouth and a 'piss on you too' attitude in the Romanian branch(es). Only that he worked in the Bucharest office. I was not surprised at all and neither was he, actually. He took it a bit better than me, counting that I'm yet to read a post by him about this. Oh, come on, my English is bad, but you got the idea. Joke, it was a joke. Anyway. The company will make it through the economical crisis! They did their lay-offs, now they are set on the road to success.

I suppose I tricked at least someone that I will detail stuff about the arguments, disputes and the other normal, everyday stuff. No, I won't.

There's something else I will do (after finding a new pack of cigarettes) (and lighting one) (I smoke too much). I will try to keep this updated, at least for a while. There is a lot going on and since I'm not socializing too much lately in real life, I will let my big mouth burst here. I am planning on writing some stuff on several subjects that I found interesting over my already too many years of working for that company or that company. Subjects like Romanian work culture, culture clashes, ass kissing, newbies, "getting around", idiots that can fix themselves and so on. I intend to make fun of most of the subjects, but some things are really getting on my nerves, so the 'dick' family of words are also expected.
